Revenue Skyrockets for Anthropic, Setting Stage for Potential Blockbuster IPO

According to a recent Bloomberg News report, Anthropic, the maker of the Claude chatbot, saw its revenue increase by over 14 times in the second quarter compared to the previous year. The company reported preliminary revenue of more than $11.5 billion for the quarter, a significant jump from $787 million in the same period in 2025. This surge in revenue comes as Anthropic competes with OpenAI for corporate customers and gains traction among professionals utilizing its software for various tasks, including coding.

The impressive financial results have fueled speculation about a potential initial public offering for Anthropic, with early meetings with investors reportedly being led by Anthropic CFO Krishna Rao. If the company does decide to go public, it could pave the way for Anthropic to become one of the first major private AI companies to tap into the public markets, providing access to additional capital to fund its escalating compute infrastructure costs and other investments in advanced technology.
